The original title was ‘The Kiss’, which was later renamed ‘The Dream Pt. 1’. The image depicts me, coloured with red for passion and love + green for guilt and disgust, kissing an orchid, a fantasy dreamt up by my head in the bottom RH corner. I have always struggled to accept my sexuality, and so kissing the orchid within the safety of my imagination becomes an intense embrace of both desire and guilt (hence why I drew my face to be straining and tense).
